Description

At the end of the training participants will:

  • learn about different types of trauma and how trauma develops
  • learn about Pasifika perspectives on trauma, and the impact trauma has on Pasifika communities
  • gain practical skills in healing-centered approaches
  • discover self-care strategies to prevent burnout.

Is this training for you?

This is a foundational level training for anybody working in a Pasifika Primary Mental Health and Addiction role. Priority will be given to people working in Pasifika Access and Choice funded roles. The training has been developed for individuals who:

  • work in non-clinical and/or non-registered frontline roles, such as health coaches, community support workers, and navigators
  • work with Pasifika communities in a primary mental health and addiction setting.
