Pasifika Suicide Prevention Community Fund

Empowering Pasifika families and communities to prevent suicide and to respond effectively when a suicide occurs.

The Le Va Pasifika Suicide Prevention Community Fund is aimed at preparing more Pasifika families and communities to prevent suicide and respond effectively if a suicide occurs.

The fund seeks to support Pasifika communities to effectively implement community-based initiatives so that families and communities are:

  • strongly connected
  • equipped with the skills to cope with distress
  • actively building resilience and reducing the risks of suicide
  • assisted in accessing support services
  • supported to build a strong cultural identity to enhance mental wellbeing

How to apply

Applications for the Le Va Pasifika Suicide Prevention Community Fund are now closed.

The closing date was Wednesday 31 July at 4.30pm.

We invited online applications for funding between $50,000 and $200,000, excluding GST.

Funded projects must be delivered in full between 7 October 2024 to 24 October 2025.

  • Applications opened Monday 8 July 2024
  • Applications closed Wednesday 31 July at 4.30pm
  • Shortlisted applicants will be notified by mid-September 2024
  • Contracting phase will start at the end of September 2024
  • Contract negotiation meetings will be held 23 – 27 September 2024 for successful applicants
  • Projects must be delivered between 7 October 2024 and 24 October 2025

  • Attached any supporting documentation requested
  • Attached any additional information that may support your application
  • Provided the contact details of two referees
  • Signed the declaration form
