From 2024, Le Va is administering a new Addiction and Problem Gambling Harm Scholarship, funded by Te Whatu Ora, intended to increase the capability and capacity of the workforce.
This scholarship is open to anyone studying towards a qualification that contributes to reducing harms from alcohol and other drugs and problem gambling.
While our Futures that Work Pacific Mental Health and Addiction Scholarship is for students of Pasifika descent, applicants from all backgrounds are welcome to apply for our Addiction and Problem Gambling Harm Scholarship.
How to apply
Applications for the 2025 Le Va Addiction and Problem Gambling Harm Scholarship are now open!
To be eligible, applicants must:
- be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident at the time of the application
- be enrolled in a Addiction or Problem Gambling Harm related qualification
- be enrolled at an approved NZQA accredited tertiary provider in New Zealand
- submit a correctly completed application form with all required documentation by 5pm, Monday 3 February 2025.

- Submit your application to be reviewed.

Important dates
Applications open: Monday 2 December 2024 at 8:30am.
Applications close: Monday 3 February 2025 at 5pm.
Successful applicants will be notified in late March 2025.
Awarded Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the education provider.
Please make sure you do the following before submitting your application:
- Complete all parts of the application form
- Attach all supporting documentation requested
- Attach your fees invoice
- Attach any additional information that may support your application
- Sign the declaration form.
