Pacific Suicide Postvention: Supporting Pacific Communities

Pacific Suicide Postvention: Supporting Pacific Communities

Suicide postvention is supporting and caring for those who have lost someone to suicide. Supporting loved ones is an important step towards reducing risk of further suicides.

In New Zealand, CASA is funded by the Ministry of Health to provide our Community Postvention Response Service, and works alongside others to facilitate postvention responses.

In 2017 Hibiscus Research led by Dr Jemaima Tiatia-Seath carried out a study on postvention support needs in Pasifika communities through Waka Hourua research funding. As a result they have produced this resource for Pasifika communities: Pacific Suicide Postvention: Supporting Pacific Communities.

This is not a Le Va developed resource but is being hosted on behalf of the researchers and producers of the pamphlet.
