We continue our profile of our FLO ambassadors network this month by highlighting three of our members: Poko Ngaro, Alisi Tatafu and Epi Elisara. 

In July, the Le Va team joined about eight other presenters for a one-day Perinatal Mental Health workshop at the University of Auckland, East Tamaki Campus.

The West Fono Health Trust, aka The Fono, is a well-established and respected Pacific organisation in West Auckland committed to improving how health and social services respond to the needs of Pasifika. 

Through the FLO community fund, Le Va is supporting New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) to target depression and support suicide prevention, particularly among its youngest players.

Understanding Pasifika suicide prevention means empowering communities to seek and use solutions that work for them. From community consultation nationwide, our communities have expressed the need for appropriate and relevant Pasifika suicide prevention resources.

The health workforce serving Pasifika people in New Zealand continues to grow in both size and skills with 49 Pacific students receiving scholarships to start or continue a career in the mental health and addiction workforce.
