The West Fono Health Trust, aka The Fono, is a well-established and respected Pacific organisation in West Auckland committed to improving how health and social services respond to the needs of Pasifika. 

Through the FLO community fund, Le Va is supporting New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) to target depression and support suicide prevention, particularly among its youngest players.

Understanding Pasifika suicide prevention means empowering communities to seek and use solutions that work for them. From community consultation nationwide, our communities have expressed the need for appropriate and relevant Pasifika suicide prevention resources.

The health workforce serving Pasifika people in New Zealand continues to grow in both size and skills with 49 Pacific students receiving scholarships to start or continue a career in the mental health and addiction workforce. 

In collaborACTION with Vaka Tautua,  Legacy Performing Arts is leading a Le Va-funded Pasifika Suicide Prevention community initiative.

The first day of introductions at the Disabled Persons Assembly (DPA) Pasifika Fono provided a whole new line of thought as I reflected upon my own up-bringing from my parents with their own impairments.
