Giving back to community – FLO Talanoa
As a person with a performing arts background that started in the community, the notion of being able to give back to that same community was a want that had grown over the years to a need. With the loss of my step-daughter to suicide in 2012, performing arts became a pathway to healing.

In March 2015, a mentoring and vocational career pathway initiative was established for Pasifika Rainbow youth.
Beginning out of conversations of Pasifika Rainbow youth with Pasifika workforce and career development consultant Josephine Samuelu, the TALATALANOA programme began to emerge.
Supporting Pasifika Leadership – Le Tautua Matau Mana Moana
Since 2008, Le Va has supported emerging and established Pasifika leaders to develop and grow their unique cultural leadership perspectives and enhance their leadership and management skills. This has been undertaken through the Le Tautua programme. The latest iteration of the programme, targeting alumni and established Pasifika leaders is Le Tautua M3 (Matau Mana Moana).
Scholarships support Pacific talent into careers in mental health and addiction
Pacific people wanting to start or advance a career in mental health and addictions in 2016 can apply to get their fees paid with a Ministry of Health-funded Pacific Mental Health and Addiction scholarship.
