WISE UP Conference 2016
The WISE UP (Workers in Schools Educate and Unlock Potential) conference is an annual event, with alternating years between National and Regional conferences. This year’s regional conference attracted 165 delegates from the Far North to the Waikato.

We are extremely proud to promote the successes of our Pasifika Community funded Initiatives, which have been funded through the Waka Hourua Community fund. Over the past 12 months, these initiatives, led by mostly small Pasifika groups, have been delivering with quality and innovation, commitment and intentionality.
Authentic youth participation @ LeVa
Taking an authentic youth participation approach to the co-design and co-delivery of #GPS2016 was a priority that Le Va ensured from the outset. Our approach over nine months culminated into the two days of #GPS2016, role modelling good practice on how to work authentically with Pasifika young people.
Engaging Pasifika with Careers New Zealand
In the past two months Le Va has been working in collaborACTION with Careers New Zealand, a crown entity focusing on Career Path Development with young people. We’ve delivered a tailored Engaging Pasifika programme to more than 80 staff to date, in different cities over three workshops.

Presentation to the Public Health Leadership Programme 2016
The Public Heath Leadership Programme is designed for public health leaders in New Zealand, and is funded by the Ministry of Health. It has been developed following extensive consultation and aims to build leadership within the public health sector. It was my recent pleasure to speak with participants of its Auckland cohort to outline a Pasifika perspective on leadership.
