Our purpose
Le Va’s purpose is to support people of the moana to unleash their full potential.
We support and encourage this by carefully designing and developing evidence-based resources, tools, information, knowledge and support services for the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes.
We do this all while recalling our traditional values, and applying them safely, in a contemporary way.
Le Va – the space that relates
Traditionally, for Pasifika people, sacred relationships exist between people, as well as between people and the environment, ancestors and the heavens. To nurture the va is to respect and maintain the sacred space, harmony and balance within relationships.
In spirit, we work with those delivering mental health, disability, addictions, public health, suicide prevention, violence prevention, primary prevention and general health and wellbeing services to develop flourishing Pasifika communities who are reaching their full potential.
We believe that the solutions lie within our own communities, so that’s where you’ll find us. We walk alongside churches, sports clubs, education centres and relevant groups with large Pasifika populations to ensure the right knowledge, skills and information is reaching the right people at the right time.

Our logo
The Le Va symbol is a collection of Pacific motifs portraying the strong and respectful relationships between people, organisations, communities and societies that are maintained by Va, and it conveys Le Va as a Pacific organisation. It also draws upon the colours and shapes from the natural environments of the Pacific Islands.
Lead
The green leaves reaching to the sky represent new life, hope, blue-sky-thinking and innovation. Our work here focuses on fostering vibrant Pacific leaders and creating space for systems transformation.
Inform
The star, the colour of the night sky, is a masculine image that refers to the skilled navigators of the Pacific who would use the sun, stars, wind, waves and clouds to voyage and discover new lands. By producing new information that is accessible for Pacific people, we aim to create a constellation of stars to navigate uncharted waters.
Grow
The brown roots firmly embedded in the earth reference our genealogical roots, identity, and provide the foundations for good growth. This symbol represents the work we carry out focusing on building strong foundations for a sustainable workforce.
Engage
The orange frangipani is a feminine image depicted in siapo tapa cloth and, historically, in pre-Polynesian lapita pottery motifs. It represents beauty and power. The work we lead in this area is about enhancing the ‘beauty’ of services so that they are more responsive for our Pasifika families.
